product details

These ASG 22TPA motors have been revised to improve performance. The most notable revision are the ventilation holes on the top of the motor can. In addition, the pinion gear installed on the motor is better machined and has sustained more thorough heat treatment than previous generations.

The heat treatment process for the pinion isn’t just run at one temperature, but rather by a computer controlled program based around the combination of temperature ranges and time the pinions are exposed in each range. The temperature program for the new version of the pinions has been modified to better enhance the desired characteristics of the metal used, and is considered proprietary.

The short type motors are .5mm shorter than previous generations which improves compatibility.

These motors provide much more torque than standard 16TPA motors. Not only are these motors well made from high quality parts, they also pass through superior QC compared to most other brands.

The Pinion Gear is fully CNC machined, and so is the motor case and endbell. The Pinion is O-type for optimal concentricity. The pinions are difficult to remove, and I can't foresee them ever coming undone during a game.

In addition to this, the ASG 22TPA motors use huge vertical brushes for best contact with the commutator. The armature design is one of the best I've seen and uses drilled holes for balancing. The armature also uses large bearings on both sides.

This motor is best suited for the following:

Users who want a high rate of fire using low ratio gears (yields ~33rps using 10.44:1 gears on 11.1v)

High or medium ratio DSG builds (20.8, 20.15, or 14.09 DSG)

DMR users who want a good trigger response and torque without sacrificing too much ROF on full auto.

This motor is the perfect balance of torque, without sacrificing speed. It does not heat up after continuous semi auto use. AT ALL. It is very well made. Currently using it in a M170 9-tooth dsg setup. And it is pulling it with ease with very low noise. I highly recommend this motor for a variety of different builds.
