product details

These gears are produced using PIM technology, which is the same process used to make gears in some stock Gearboxes. Since the majority of Gearboxes come with 18:1 gears, these gears can be used for quick and easy repairs without significantly changing the rate of fire or torque.

Since these gears are PIM, they may produce a more desirable meshing noise than harder gears.

Worth it for the bevel gear alone

I get these just for the bevel gear. It is *the easiest* and most forgiving-to-shim bevel I've worked with outside of 1st Gen SHS bevels, and has some other really great qualities like:

* Lower noise profile than SHS bevels
* Fully compatible with SHS//ZCI Pinion Gears, as well as other brands
*** ~1.28mm spur gear teeth vs ~1.1mm on SHS bevels ***

The Spur and Sector gears are absolutely adequate as well, and I've used them in both drop-in and in short-stroked setups without issue. The only issue I can note when using these is that I went from 15 to 20 amps in semi-auto using this bevel with an SHS 13:1 gear set vs its included bevel, but the night-and-day decrease in gear whine more than makes up for it to me.

These gears are actually fairly durable. The actual ratio is 18.72:1. When shimmed properly they'll last a while and run smoothly. I wouldn't use them with anything more than an SP120/M130 or with a ridiculously low TPA motor but if you need a cheap replacement 18:1 set they're pretty good. Note: these appear to be the exact same gears that come in newer Ares guns and the ASG Scorpion EVO. It seems that ZCI makes some of Ares' internals.
